As you’d expect, we’re very excited about the new series of The Great British Bake Off – it’s something that we look forward to every year. As we approach the of the summer, we know it’s time for our GBBO fix to be delivered!
To refresh ourselves, we’ve decided to go through the three most recent winners and find out what they’ve been up to since winning:
Series six – Nadiya Hussain (2015)
Let’s start with the most recent and winner of the most watched series (15 million people watched her win the final!). Nadiya has been very busy since her win: she has appeared frequently on TV shows such as Loose Women and The One Show, written two recipe books and even made the Queen’s 90th birthday cake. Impressive, right?
Series five – Nancy Birtwhistle (2014)
Nancy is the oldest winner of the show so far. She regularly does product demonstrations up and down the country and also campaigns for an anti-food-waste charity. Her baking blog is very successful and she is currently working on a cookbook that will be a hand-me-down.
Series four – Frances Quinn (2013)
Originally from Northampton, Frances is a local winner to us at the High Street Bakery. Quinn published her popular book, Quinntessential Baking, last summer and does personal bakery appearances around the country. She has also been busy making some show-stopping cakes for Quentin Blake, Clare Balding and the Tate’s Matisse Exhibition.
The Great British Bake Off helps to show and explain in an hour why it is we love baking so much!
